Damauli (Tanahu), April 10: A motorable bridge has been constructed over the Kaligandaki River at Ghiring rural municipality-1 Tanahu district. The bridge connects the Gandaki Province with Lumbini Province. Chairman of the Bridge Construction Users' Committee, Bishnu Bhakta Sigdel, said that although the bridge has not been formally inaugurated, the vehicles have started operating from here. The concrete bridge connects Puttar of Ghiring Rural Municipality-1 of Tanahu in Gandaki Province and Syauli Bazaar of Rampur Municipality-1 of Palpa in Lumbini Province. United Builders was awarded the contract for the construction of the bridge. The 210-metre-long double lane bridge has been constructed at an investment of Rs 270 million. In the absence of a bridge over the Kaligandaki river, the people of Puttar and Syauli were forced to travel long distance through Nisdi rural municipality of Palpa. The travel time has been reduced and eased with the operation of the bridge.
