Kathmandu, May 21: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pande, has said the 'Tourism Bill, 2081' was imperative to ensure reform in the tourism sector. He argued tourism sector is essential to boost Nepal's economy. The Minister said it while presenting a proposal seeking consideration on 'Tourism bill, 2081' at the National Assembly meeting on Wednesday. Participating in the deliberations on Bill, NA members Dr Anjan Shakya, Ganga Kumari Belbase, Kiran Babu Shrestha, Taraman Swar, Suresh Kumar Alemagar, Gopi Bahadur Achhami, Tulasha Kumari Dahal said the tourism sector should contribute to Nepal's sustainable development and national economy. Minister Pande viewed Nepal bears much potential in terms of nature and culture. The coordination among federal, provincial and local governments would be further strengthened for tourism promotion, he vowed. NA Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal informed that the members willing to make amendment to the Bill could consult the bill section of the parliament. The NA will meet next on May 28.
